ʻOhana means family. We plan and run private group trips end to end — so everyone on them gets to simply be there, including whoever had the idea in the first place.
Our name
In Hawaiian, ʻohana means family — and family means nobody gets left behind. It’s a generous idea. It stretches past blood to include the people you choose: the friends you’ve traveled with for twenty years, the team you built, the guys you’ve played with every Saturday since college.
Our mark is a sprig of maile, the vine used in Hawaiian lei for welcomes and blessings. A maile lei is never tied closed. It’s left open, so it can be placed around someone as they arrive. That felt like the right symbol for what we do.
Where we come from
ʻOhana Getaways came out of restaurants, where a table of thirty either goes beautifully or it doesn’t, and you find out in real time which one it’s going to be. That’s where we learned that hospitality is mostly preparation — that the evening a guest remembers was decided hours before they walked in.
Two decades of running complex operations followed — long programs, many moving parts, a lot of people depending on the details being right. Group travel is the same discipline pointed at something considerably more enjoyable.
We’re based in Olathe, Kansas, and we plan journeys worldwide. Ask us about Hawaii for a large family, links golf in Ireland and Scotland, bourbon and whiskey country, and corporate retreats worth the flight.
